Hi, I’m Mandi – proud mum to two energetic boys, coffee lover, gym junkie, and now co-owner of PestOz, our family-run pest control business in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. My dad started the business over 16 years ago, and I’ve recently joined him to help grow the incredible business he built.

Born and raised in Bondi, I’ve always called the Eastern Suburbs home – and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. On weekends, you’ll find me on the sidelines at the soccer fields (yes, full soccer mum mode!) before winding down with a well-earned glass of wine and date night with hubby.

Life’s busy, loud and hectic – and while I complain about it sometimes, I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Where do you live and how long have you lived there?

I was born and raised in Bondi my entire childhood and now live in Coogee – a true Eastern Suburbs girl through and through!

What do you love most about your local area?

I absolutely love the laid-back, chilled vibe of the area and how friendly everyone is.

If you had a magic wand and could improve one thing about your local area what would it be?

I would love to see a few more cool cafes and restaurants

How many children?

2 boys – 6 and 10 years old

Favourite coffee shop?

Stevie & Marli! If I’m down at the beach I wouldn’t go anywhere else for coffee. Their coffee is always great, the food is so healthy and fresh and the owner is the most lovely man! Plus they have the best home-made soups and broths which is always perfect when you’re sick.

Typical after-school routine?

Every afternoon is different for us – but always busy and most days end in at least 1 argument to do homework! They do swimming and soccer multiple times a week so every day it’s a different activity but Friday afternoon’s always end with a trip to the petrol station to choose their fav treat (the highlight of their week)

Favourite school holiday activities in the local area?

My boys are very energetic and love sport and because I’m a working mum school holidays always consist of a combination of different sports camps and lots of catch ups with friends at the park where they ride their bikes, play in the playground and kick the ball around – a few favs spots are always Newmarket Randwick and Centennial Park.

Favourite date night place?

Date night is very important to my husband and I – we make sure we do this regularly! Our fav date night spot is a drink at Will’s followed by dinner next door at Una Mas. Can’t go wrong with all the restaurants at Coogee Pavilion.

Favourite long weekend destination?

We love the Blue Mountains – especially in winter! It’s easy and quick to get to and so much for the kids to do in the outdoors. Although they would be very happy just to visit the famous lolly shop in Leura.

What tips would you have for people moving to the area?

Get to know all your local groups, shops, cafes and neighbours – it’s a very friendly place and a lot of locals get to know each other which makes living here so special. Also, make sure you go for early morning walks or runs along the beachfront as the sunrises are incredible!

Tell us about what you do for work?

I’m the proud co-owner of PestOz, a family-run pest control company servicing homes and businesses across Sydney, specialising in the Eastern Suburbs. My dad started PestOz over 15 years ago, and last year I decided to take the plunge and join him – bringing my background in marketing and admin to help take the business to the next level.

Working alongside my dad has been an incredibly rewarding (and surprisingly fun!) journey – combining his decades of experience with a fresh, modern approach to growing the business has been a really fun ride so far.
