Interview with a local

Prescilla Pearson

Andrews Farm, South Australia

Hey there! I’m Prescilla – mum of two kids, owner of two huskies, and the proud Managing Director of Virtual Trade Management (VTM). Like most parents, I juggle a lot of hats: school run chauffeur, homework helper, weekend sports cheerleader, and chief negotiator at bedtime.

After years of working alongside trades and seeing the challenges they face behind the scenes, I launched VTM to give tradies the systems, structure, and support they need to run smarter, more profitable businesses. It’s been such a rewarding way to combine my love for organisation and strategy with my passion for helping families in trade businesses reclaim their time.

You’ll usually find me balancing client calls, business plans, and family life — sometimes all at once!

Where do you live and how long have you lived there?

I have lived in South Australia my whole life! I’ve been lucky enough to explore much of SA and it’s a fantastic place to live. It’s a great place for families raising young children, with plenty of opportunities for working families. Within a 30 for 40 minute drive, you could be in the CBD, at the beach or in the Barossa Valley

Describe your local area in 3 words

Exciting, busy, up-and-coming

What do you love most about your local area?

I love that within 35 minutes, I can be in wine country farmland, or I can be at the beach, or I can be in the city. Everything you need is always within a 30 minute drive. It’s super accessible and really supports having a family.

If you had a magic wand and could improve one thing about your local area what would it be?

The roads – unfortunately although the housing and population has boomed, our roads haven’t followed suit. There’s a few key roads nearby that should really be two-lane. The congestion around school time can get a little crazy

How many children?

1 girl aged 14 and 1 boy aged 7

Favourite coffee shop?

I love Soul Brew Coffee in Angle Vale. The owner is super passionate about coffee, the food and drinks are all reasonably priced, you never need to wait for a table and it really has that small community vibe!

Typical after-school routine?

We’re lucky that my son is at that age where sports training is once a week (for now!!) and my daughter isn’t into sports. So generally it’s school runs, a day of working, afternoon pick ups, hanging out with friends, playing with the dogs and getting ready for the next day. Then Tuesdays we have soccer in the afternoon. Our weekends however are jam packed with sporting games, activities for both kids, friends, chores, doing all the things you can’t fit in during the week when you work!

Favourite school holiday activities in the local area?

My daughter is super introverted so she loves a chill day on the couch watching some Netflix (K-Pop Demon Hunters is the fav for now). Then my son is my extrovert dare devil so it’s tree top climbs, bowling, ninja courses!

Favourite date night place?

For a romantic dinner, I’m a massive fan of Sneakys in Angle Vale. It’s a little pricier than a pub but the food quality and portions are worth it! It’s a super cool place with a real nice vinyard feel to it so it makes for a great venue for special occasions. For something fun with girlfriends, I love the Exchange in Gawler. They have some great cocktails and Friday nights have a DJ – makes a great place for a dance! My friend and I always leave around 12am to go get our ritual McDonalds on the way home!

Favourite long weekend destination?

With the kids I’d go the West Beach Caravan park. Awesome place, heaps of activities for the kids, especially in school holidays! They have everything you can imagine to keep the kids busy and entertained. Or even the Riverland! There’s some great caravan parks around Berri and Lake Bonney.

What tips would you have for people moving to the area?

Look for an up and coming area. Angle Vale is a place I used to live and it’s a great place for growing families! If you’re a beach person look at Aldinga/Port Noarlunga areas. Anything outside of that and nearby you’ll get great value for money and everything you need is close by. You don’t need to move into the inner city suburbs to have everything at your finger tips!

Tell us about what you do for work?

I run Virtual Trade Management (VTM), where my team and I help tradies streamline the behind-the-scenes side of their business. From quoting and scheduling to systems, processes, and admin support, we take care of the parts that usually cause the most stress. Our goal is to give tradies back their time so they can focus on the tools, their clients, and their families, while knowing the business is running smoothly and profitably in the background.

What is the name of your business?
