Lauren Perrett

I’m Lauren– parent to two beautiful little humans, and the founder of BubbaDesk and Wombee, two ventures close to my heart that were inspired by my own journey through early parenthood.
BubbaDesk is a co-working space with onsite childcare, designed for parents who want to get work done while staying close to their little ones. Wombee is an app designed to help mothers find, connect, and grow with supportive groups from pregnancy through toddlerhood, offering a dedicated space to share experiences and build lasting friendships.
Both businesses were born from lived experience: trying to juggle work, identity, and parenting without compromising connection or wellbeing. I’m passionate about creating practical solutions that help families thrive in the real world – not just in theory.
Where do you live and how long have you lived there?
Avoca Beach, Central Coast – last 5 years.
Describe your local area in 3 words
Coastal, family-friendly, relaxed.
What do you love most about your local area?
What I love most about my local area is how incredibly child-friendly it is. Having Avoca Beach right on our doorstep is such a gift, we’re often down there with sandy feet and big smiles. There’s a genuine community vibe, with great playgrounds and spaces where families can connect, relax, and let the kids run free.
If you had a magic wand and could improve one thing about your local area what would it be?
If I had a magic wand, I’d love to see more flexible, high-quality childcare options locally – especially ones that truly understand the needs of modern families. It would make a huge difference for parents trying to balance work, life, and time with their little ones.
How many children?
 2 boys, aged 4 and 2

Favourite coffee shop?
Avoca Sands Cafe!
Typical after-school routine?
Our afternoons after BubbaDesk are all about slowing down and reconnecting. My two (aged 2 and 4) are usually ready for a snack and some outdoor play – often at the park or the beach, depending on the weather. We keep things simple: sandcastles, scooter rides, and unstructured play are big favourites. It’s a nice way to ease out of the day together before dinner, books, and the bedtime wind-down begin.
Favourite school holiday activities in the local area?
With a 2- and 4-year-old, we love keeping school holidays playful and low-pressure. Mornings often start with beach adventures – building sandcastles, paddling in the shallows at Avoca, or collecting shells. We’re big fans of the Avoca Beachside Markets when they’re on – there’s always music, food, and something fun for the kids. The local library is also a favourite spot for storytime sessions and a bit of quiet play.
When we want to change things up, we head to Kincumba Mountain Reserve for a bushwalk and picnic – it’s surprisingly toddler-friendly and the views are beautiful. And of course, we can’t go past a babycino stop at Like Minds or Shady Palms Café – perfect for little treat breaks!
Favourite date night place?
Date night?!?
Favourite long weekend destination?
Bowral or Fiji
What tips would you have for people moving to the area?
Rent before you buy! Central Coast is big, and each suburb offers something really different.
Tell us about what you do for work?
I’m the CEO of BubbaDesk and Wombee, which means my days are a mix of strategy, team leadership, and staying closely connected to the needs of the parents we serve. I spend my time growing our team, building partnerships, shaping our vision, and making sure we’re always evolving to meet the real-life challenges of early parenthood.
